THE NATIONAL WEATHER SERVICE HAS ISSUED A WINTER STORM WARNING IN EFFECT FROM MIDNIGHT TONIGHT TO 8 AM THURSDAY.A COASTAL FLOOD WARNING IN EFFECT FROM 9 PM THIS EVENING TO 2 AM WEDNESDAY MORNING AND FROM 9 AM WEDNESDAY MORNING TO 3 PM WEDNESDAY AFTERNOON

*HAZARD TYPES… HEAVY WET SNOW. POSSIBLE COASTAL FLOODING   

*ACCUMULATIONS… OF 11TO 15 INCHES FORECASTED OF HEAVY WET SNOW         

* TIMING… TUESDAY NIGHT THROUGH WEDNESDAY NIGHT FOR SNOW. MINOR COASTAL FLOODING DURING THE TUESDAY NIGHT HIGH TIDE CYCLE, WITH MODERATE COASTAL FLOODING POSSIBLE FOR THE WEDNESDAY HIGH TIDE CYCLE. HIGH TIDE IN FREEPORT IS 11:28 TUESDAY EVENING,12:01 PM WEDNESDAY AFTERNOON, 12:16 AM THURSDAY MORNING.

* IMPACTS... SNOW COVERED STREETS AND SIDEWALKS. POSSIBLE MINOR TO MODERATE COASTAL FLOODING AT TIMES OF HIGH TIDE FOR TUESDAY AND WEDNESDAY.   

WE ARE ASKING ALL RESIDENTS TO PLEASE MOVE YOUR CARS OFF THE STREETS THROUGHOUT THE VILLAGE DURING THIS SNOW EVENT.  WHILE USING YOUR SNOWBLOWER OR SHOVELS, AIM THE SNOW TOWARDS YOUR HOUSE, NOT OUT INTO THE STREET. IF YOU HAVE A FIRE HYDRANT NEAR YOUR HOME, PLEASE MAKE A SMALL PATH AND HAVE THE HYDRANT EXPOSED. HAVE YOUR CARS AND PERSONAL PROPERTY LIFTED UP OUT OF HARMS WAY DURING TIMES OF HIGH TIDE.
